UPCOMING CLINICS BOOK SESSION

Who is Swim With Milo for?

I work with swimmers of all ages who have at least 1, preferably 2 competitive seasons of experience. For swimmers with little or no competitive experience, I'm happy to recommend qualified instructors who can help build foundational skills.

Who is Milo Cavic?

Milo Cavic is an Olympic silver medalist, former world champion, former world record holder, NCAA champion and former All-American. Born in Anaheim, California with Serbian ancestry, he represented Serbia in four Olympic Games and brings nearly two decades of elite-level racing and coaching experience to every session.

Where are in-person private swim lessons held?

Private lessons are held primarily at Somerset Recreational Club pool, just above Factoria in Bellevue. Alternative locations become available in June and August.

Where are stroke clinics held?

Depending on availability, clinics are typically held at Snohomish Aquatic Center, Fife Aquatic Center, and Seattle University.

Do I need to be an elite swimmer to work with Milo?

No. If you're ready to learn, Milo is ready to teach. Coaching is adjusted to experience levels, but it is recommended that swimmers have 1–2 seasons of competitive swimming experience and that they genuinely want the help. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

What is a Discovery Call with Milo?

A Discovery Call is designed for new clients only. It is a 20-minute consultation where you explain your goals and challenges. Milo provides a diagnosis and a clear roadmap for improvement so you can decide if world-class coaching is the right next step.

Are private swim lessons structured or flexible?

Private lessons are swimmer-led. You set the pace, ask the questions, and focus on what you feel you need the most help with. Milo adapts the session in real time to maximize learning and progress.

What's the difference between 30-minute and 60-minute private lessons?

A 30-minute lesson is ideal for targeted fixes and focused feedback. A 60-minute lesson allows for deeper stroke analysis, multiple corrections, drill work, and time to feel changes settle into your stroke. The longer format also provides more repetitions of drills and opportunities to execute learned techniques at higher speeds with the help of tempo trainers and timed 25's, building confidence in new skills.

Do you offer coaching for masters swimmers?

Yes. Masters swim coaching focuses on improving efficiency, speed, and conditioning while protecting shoulders and joints. The goal is sustainable improvement, not just more yardage.

Can triathletes benefit from Swim With Milo coaching?

Absolutely. Triathlon swim coaching focuses on technique, pacing, breathing, and sighting so you exit the water calmer, faster, and ready to bike and run strong. Milo also teaches how to effectively use the hips for preservation of the arms and legs.

Do you offer open water swim coaching?

Yes. Open water coaching helps swimmers build confidence, improve pacing, learn effective sighting, and stay calm in unpredictable conditions like lakes and oceans. Milo also teaches how to effectively use the hips for preservation of the arms and legs.

What is specialty strength training?

Specialty strength training is a semi-private, resistance-based session for experienced swimmers who have worked with Milo for at least 6–12 months. It focuses on technical strength development tied to specific strokes and races. Strength training has transformed competitive swimming over the last 15 years and is the most impactful way to increase a swimmer's overall capacities.

Who can join specialty strength training sessions?

These sessions are invitation-based and designed for swimmers with at least 6–12 months of prior experience working with Milo in private lessons. This ensures swimmers can correctly and responsibly build strength and muscle under resistance training. Sessions require two swimmers and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Do swimmers in strength sessions need to be the same age or stroke?

No. Swimmers in specialty strength training sessions do not need to match in age or stroke. Although sessions are similar in structure, training is tailored to each swimmer's capabilities and desired strokes, ensuring the work is both challenging and engaging.

Do you offer virtual swim coaching?

Yes. Worldwide virtual coaching includes video stroke analysis, technique corrections, and training guidance. It's ideal for swimmers who want elite feedback regardless of location.

Can local swimmers combine in-person and virtual coaching?

Yes. Many swimmers combine in-person lessons with virtual coaching to stay consistent, track progress, and maintain momentum between sessions.

What ages do you work with?

Swim With Milo works with young age group swimmers through adult masters athletes. Coaching style and expectations are adjusted based on age, maturity, and goals.

How quickly will I see improvement?

Many swimmers feel improvements immediately, especially with technique corrections. Long-term gains depend on consistency, commitment, and applying feedback during regular training.

Is Swim With Milo focused on technique or conditioning?

Technique comes first. Better mechanics unlock speed, efficiency, and conditioning. Once technique improves, conditioning becomes more effective and sustainable.

How do I get started with Swim With Milo?

The best place to start is by booking a Discovery Call or a private lesson. From there, Milo will help you choose the right combination of lessons, clinics, or coaching options based on your goals.
