UPCOMING CLINICS BOOK SESSION

Hey swimmers! This is coach Milo.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from you all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"This is why triathletes plateau in swimming - explained by world champion swimmer Milo Cavic"

Answer:

In swimming, moving your arms faster doesn’t guarantee speed. If you’re not holding water effectively, you’re just spinning your arms without propulsion.
Thrashing creates air bubbles and reduces your ability to grip the water. Since water is much denser than air, efficiency is critical.
The goal is to enter the water cleanly, minimize air, and use your forearms and hands to move water backward effectively.
Distance per stroke is far more important than stroke rate alone.

Summary:

Increasing effort without proper technique doesn’t increase speed in swimming; efficiency and water grip (distance per stroke) are what truly matter.
