UPCOMING CLINICS BOOK SESSION

Hey swimmers! This is coach Milo.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from you all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"What does Milo Cavic think the PERFECT freestyle is?"

Answer: Yes, I am a strong proponent of balanced freestyle. The ultimate goal is harmony with the water. When you place your hand in the water, it should act as an anchor, and your body should move past that point—not the other way around.

You don’t want to rip water backward aggressively. Instead, you want to position your hand and use it as a stable point to move your body forward. This creates a smoother, more efficient stroke.

If you watch elite swimmers, you’ll notice that their hands appear almost stationary while their bodies glide past them. That’s the hallmark of a highly efficient stroke. It’s not about force—it’s about connection and movement through the water.

Balanced freestyle is about working with the water, not fighting it.

Summary: Balanced freestyle focuses on anchoring the hand and moving the body past it, creating a smooth, efficient, and harmonious stroke.
